Cooking at Home

A great way to achieve a balanced diet is to cook your food at home. Home cooking is a great way for you to know what’s in your meals and to monitor your calories, fat and salt intake.

Many people think home cooking is expensive, takes too long, or that they don’t know how to cook well enough to make nice meals. But, there’s lots of ways you can cook easy meals on a budget that don’t take up hours of your day.

Buying frozen or tinned fruit and vegetables is a great way to help you get your 5 a day in whilst being able to make them last. And if you’re worried about your cooking skills, you don’t need to be! Have a look on YouTube for a cook-a-long video.
