When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, what we drink can be just as important as what we eat. This Alcohol Awareness Week, we want to inspire you to try some homemade mocktails!

Why Choose Mocktails?

Mocktails are non-alcohlic drinks that mimic the look and taste of traditional cocktails. Mocktails can be:

  • Hydrating - With fresh fruit, herbs, and water-based bases, they keep you refreshed.

  • Low in sugar - Unlike shop bought juices and mocktails, homemade mocktails let you control sugar content.

Nourishing Mocktail Recipes to Try:

Cucumber Mint Sparkler

A crisp and cooling option, perfect for warm summer days.

Ingredients:

1/2 cucumber, sliced

Handful of fresh mint leaves

Juice of 1 lime

Sparkling water

Ice

Instructions:

Muddle cucumber slices and mint leaves in a glass. Add lime juice, ice, and top with sparkling water. Stir gently, then it's ready to serve or drink!

Berry Basil Refresher

The mocktail is antioxidant-rich and tangy.

Ingredients:

1/2 mixed berries (fresh or frozen)

5 fresh basil leaves

1 tsp honey

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Sparkling water

Instructions:

Muddle the berries and basil in a glass. Add lemon juice and honey. Fill the flass with ice and sparkling water. Stir well and serve with a few whole berries on the top!

Remember, mocktails are more than just a fun alternative, they're a way to hydrate, nourish and celebrate your healthy journey. Whethering you're entertaining guests or enjoying some sunny weather, these alcohol-free drinks can add a flavourful twist to your wellness routine.

So go ahead - grab a glass, slice some citrus, and toast to a healthier, happier you!

this is a really helpful and timely post, especially with how winter tends to bring more colds, flu and general fatigue, it’s a good reminder that small everyday habits actually make a big difference like keeping warm, staying active indoors, and making sure you’ve had your vaccinations when eligible. I also liked the focus on practical things like looking out for neighbours and not isolating yourself too much, because winter can really affect mood as well as physical health . simple steps like eating regular warm meals and washing hands properly really do add up in preventing illness. reading useful content like this while keeping up with studies can get a bit overwhelming sometimes so I’ve been using Science Assignment…
